
IIT Jodhpur convocation remained a grand affair with a total of 404 students graduating. The event was held on 19 December in the physical and virtual presence of the faculty, staff, students and parents.

IIT Jodhpur director Professor Santanu Chaudhury delivered welcome address during IIT Jodhpur convocation. IIT Jodhpur has embarked on an ambitious mission to establish itself as one of the top destinations in the country for a wholesome education with the right mix of flexible academics, cutting-edge research, curiosity-driven innovation and a curriculum built on technology foresight.
I am glad to say that IIT Jodhpur’s curriculum resonates with National Education Policy 2020 guidelines, he said speaking at IIT Jodhpur convocation.

IIT Jodhpur convocation remained a grand affair indeed and the those who graduated included 27 PhD scholars, 130 MTech students, 67 MSc students and 180 BTech students.
There was another special point to this IIT Jodhpur convocation. It also witnessed the first-time award of degree for candidates from multiple emerging postgraduate disciplines including M. Tech in Artificial Intelligence (AI); Advanced Manufacturing and Design (AMD); Thermo Fluids Engineering (TFE); Cyber Physical System (CPS); Sensors and Internet of Things (SIoT); Data and Computational Sciences (DCS), and Materials Engineering (MT).

Certificates
Also, a total of 59 BTech. students who graduated during this IIT Jodhpur convocation will be conferred with specialization/minor area certificates in Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Thermofluids Engineering, Robotics and minors in Entrepreneurship and Management along with their degrees.
Professor R. Chidambaram
Chairman of Board of Governors at IIT Jodhpur congratulated the graduating students. Speaking at IIT Jodhpur convocation he said ‘to the graduating class, I would like to say that it is your responsibility to make India a ‘Knowledge Economy’, a country with the ability to generate new knowledge.
After the degrees you get today, you young people will start a new chapter in your careers, pursuing research, or acquiring additional academic qualifications, or in industries, he said at IIT Jodhpur convocation.

Chief guest
Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary at Department of Biotechnology of Ministry of Science and Technology of Government of India was the chief guest at IIT Jodhpur convocation.

Union Education Minister
The moments turned more special when the video of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared to the institution on the occasion. Union Education Minister congratulated the graduating students.
In the message at IIT Jodhpur convocation, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasised that in line with the vision of the Government of India to impetus to entrepreneurial spirit and startups, IIT Jodhpur has setup the Technology Innovation and Startup Center to promote startups and programmes funded on scientific discovery to solve critical, real world issues through transformative technologies.
In the message at IIT Jodhpur convocation, he said that he was pleased to know that the institute has recently revamped its entire curriculum and pedagogical approach to make the programs more effective in terms of experiential learning of students and application of acquired knowledge and skills in line with the New Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
Medal winners
President of India Gold Medal went to Mayank Raj of Computer Science and Engineering during IIT Jodhpur convocation. Chairman, Board of Governors Gold Medal was presented to Aksh Chordia of Electrical Engineering. Director’s Gold Medal went to Geetika Agrawal of Electrical Engineering.
