
UPSC CAPF Exam 2020, the notification for the exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission to recruit Assistant Commandants in Central Armed Police Forces will be released on some other date.
UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 notification was supposed to be released on 22 April, however this has been postponed. A scrolling message running on the official website of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) says ‘CAPF (ACs) Exam 2020 scheduled to be notified on 22.4.2020 stands deferred till further notice.’

Needless to say the registration was also supposed to commence for UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 on 22 April itself. But now that will happen on some other day. The last date for submission of application for UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 was 12 May and exam was supposed to be held on 9 August.
As the date of registration for UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 is postponed, the exam date and schedule is same as of now. Should there be any changes with regards to the exam, UPSC will notify it on its website.
UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 is to be conducted to fill the vacancies in the CAPFs namely Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
The first phase of UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 comprises written test. Candidates who pass the written test can go to the next phase of the recruitment. Written part comprises two papers.

While one paper has multiple choice questions, the other paper has questions to which answere must be written in a descriptive format.
The questions in the wriiten test in UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 are related to General Ability and Intelligence, General Studies, Essay and Comprehension. General Ability and Intelligence are questions in Paper-1 which is objective.
General Studies, Essay and Comprehension are part of Paper 2 which is subjective in nature. Candidates obtaining sufficient score in UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 will have to attend physical efficiency and medical test. Applicants successful in this will attend an interview /personality test.

Syllabus
Paper 1 (General Ability and Intelligence)
General Mental Ability: The questions will be designed to test the logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude including numerical ability, and data interpretation.
General Science: The questions will be set to test general awareness, scientific temper, comprehension, and appreciation of scientific phenomena of everyday observation including new areas of importance like Information Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science.
Current Events of National and International Importance: The questions will test the candidates’ awareness of current events of national and international importance in the board areas of culture, music, arts, literature, sports, governance, societal and developmental issues, industry, business, globalisation, and interplay among nations.
Indian Polity and Economy: The questions shall aim to test candidates’ knowledge of the Country’s political system and the Constitution of India, Social systems and public administration, economic development in India, regional and international security issues and human rights including its indicators.
Indian History: The questions will broadly cover the subject in its social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the World.
Indian and World Geography: The questions shall cover the physical, social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the world.

Paper 2 (General Studies, Essay and Comprehension)
First part: Essay questions which are to be answered in the long narrative form either in Hindi or English totalling 80 Marks.
The indicative topics are modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues and analytical ability.
Second Part: Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only (Marks 120) – The topics are Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing. The Paper 1 and Paper 2 in UPSC CAPF Examn 2020 totally stand for 450 marks.
