
NIT Andhra Pradesh turned centre of attraction when it welcomed first year MTech students to campus on 1 September. The physical classes will commence after two weeks of mandatory quarantine period.
It is to note the campus of NIT Andhra Pradesh was closed for students during the second wave. This year, two more specialization have been added in M.Tech Courses, namely Bioprocess Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
A total of 46 students have joined M.Tech. at NIT Andhra Pradesh this academic year (2021-22). These students are the second batch of M.Tech. students in NIT Andhra Pradesh with the first batch having classes in online mode last year.
Director of NIT Andhra Pradesh Professor C.S.P. Rao spoke at the inaugural session. ‘You will studying different subjects in every semester. You have to explore each subject of your interest to its depth.’
Teachers and parents can guide you but ultimately it will be you who will be designing your future. I am sure you are in the position to make your future. I only request you not to waste time, said director of NIT Andhra Pradesh.
The things you will lost today cannot be gained tomorrow because tomorrow, there will be several other things to do, he said. He further said ‘Swami Vivakananda had said – ‘take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea.’
‘Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone.’ This is the way success mantra to be successful in life.’
Try to innovate yourself. Problems needs solution and you are born to find those solutions. Remember, students, that success after failure is greater than the success at the beginning, said Professor Rao of NIT Andhra Pradesh.
It is interesting to note that, last year M.Tech programme was in six specializations namely Geotechnical Engineering, Computer Science and Data Analytics, Power Electronics and Drive, Advanced Communication System and Signal Processing, Thermal Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering.

Last year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, NIT Andhra Pradesh has conducted offline classes for M.Tech first year students and now they have completed first year and are working on special projects.
Some students are already placed with Rs. Six lakh package per annum, he said. Dr. Dinesh Sankar Reddy, Registrar of NIT Andhra Pradesh said ‘NIT Andhra Pradesh is the 31st NIT and the youngest NIT in India.’

Even though it’s the youngest NIT but still competing with many of the prestigious Institutes in terms of placements and other innovations. The Institute has signed 17 Memoranda of Understanding with various prestigious organizations, he said.

NIT Andhra Pradesh has a total of 140 Faculty members and 2,025 students, of whom 1,868 are undergraduate students, 54 are postgraduate students and 103 are PhD Research Scholars.
