NEET UG 2024 Controversy: Due to an alleged paper leak, a grace mark problem, and other anomalies, a petition has been filed to annul the results of the NEET UG 2024 exam and order a reexamination. A plea asking for the cancellation of the NEET UG 2024 exam and a re-examination due to an alleged paper leak today has been received by the Supreme Court. Given the controversy and inconsistencies surrounding this year’s NEET exam, a new petition contesting the results was submitted. The case was being heard by a bench consisting of Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, according to the Live Law report.

NEET UG 2024 Controversy
On May 25, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administered the NEET UG exam 2024 to a record-breaking 24 lakh students. The exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical programmes was administered in paper format in 2024. Weeks prior to the exam, there were rumours that NEET papers had leaked. Nevertheless, the NTA denied the rumours and went forward with the scheduled exam.
Following a report of incorrect question paper distribution from one of the exam locations in Rajasthan, re-examinations for the impacted students were conducted. Following the announcement of the NEET UG results for 2024, many questions were raised. One of the most significant anomalies that have been documented is the distribution of grace marks to applicants without making the announcement in conjunction with the exam notification.
The top percentile candidates in the NEET results of 2024 were discovered to have the same roll number sequence and to have taken the exam at the same locations. A four-member committee has been created to analyse the NEET results of over 1,600 NEET candidates who were given grace marks to make up for the lost time, NTA director general Subodh Kumar revealed at a news conference as controversy and inquiries grew. Dissatisfied with the reaction, a number of political figures, student organisations, and prospective MBBS students began bombarding X and other social media platforms with demands for the students’ justice.
NEET UG 2024 Results: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expresses worries
In reference to the NEET result controversy, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on X that students are claiming that there was a scam in the results as well as the first leak of the NEET UG 2024 exam material. Concerns are being made about six students from the same centre receiving 720 out of 720 points, and a variety of abnormalities are being discovered. However, when the results were made public, numerous kid suicides have been reported around the nation. This is shocking and incredibly sad.
According to the NTA, two to three candidates received torn OMR sheets, resulting in a loss of time, while around 1,600 students from six centres received inaccurate question papers. The impacted applicants petitioned the High Court for a make-good exam or additional credit. After forming an expert group to look into the matter, it was suggested that the students get reimbursement for the time they had lost.
