According to a study of the city- and centre-level results issued by the NTA on Saturday, over 2,250 candidates received zero points, while over 9,400 received poor ratings.
Several applicants in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh are being investigated since they received less than zero marks. While there are several applicants from a few centres who have received 0 marks, no clusters are visible because the number of such candidates from each centre is small.

NEET 2024 Results: Performance Analysis
A review of data revealed that, while the candidates who allegedly benefited from the paper leak and other anomalies performed poorly, some centres have a significant percentage of high-achieving students. More than 2,000 NEET-UG candidates from Sikar centres earned more than 650 points, while over 4,000 scored more than 600. The massive result data of over 23 lakh candidates from 4,750 centres was released in a drop-down menu for each centre rather than in a cumulative style.

The data was released on the orders of the Supreme Court, which is examining multiple petitions regarding the alleged irregularities while lakhs of candidates await a final decision on the exam’s fate. The Supreme Court is reviewing multiple petitions regarding claimed irregularities in the administration of the test on May 5 at 4,750 locations in 571 cities, including 14 cities abroad.
The Supreme Court had directed that the results be revealed while the identities of aspirants were hidden. It stated that it wanted to know whether candidates who took the exam at allegedly compromised centres had higher marks than those who took it elsewhere. The court will resume hearing the arguments in the case on July 22 on a batch.
