JEST 2022
JEST 2022 is Joint Entrance Screening Test 2022 and is conducted once a year. Candidates who pass this test can get admission into PhD or intergated PhD programmes offered by the participating institutions. The exam will be organised by one of the highly admired institutions in the country like IISC Bangalore, IISERs by taking turns. JEST 2022 is to be conducted by IISER Kolkata.
Bose Institute (Kolkata), ARIES (Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences – Nainital), Homi Bhabha National Institute (Mumbai) are among the participating institutes. The examination conducted for both PhD and integrated PhD admission is common.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts one can make with regards to JEST 2022. Also, there is no age restriction for candidates willing to appear for JEST 2022.
The questions in JEST 2022 are based on lessons taught in the colleges at graduation or post graduation level. The score in JEST 2022 will be valid for a period of one year.
Eligibility
The condition of eligibility depends on the subject candidate wishes to do apply for Phd or integrated PhD.
For PhD
Physics
Candidates willing to apply for PhD in Physics through JEST 2022 should have passed MSc in Physics.
Some institutions allow BE/BTech/MSc/ME/MTech in disciplines of Applied Physics and Mathematics.
Theoretical Computer Science
Applicants keen on PhD seat in this subject through JEST 2022 must have passed MSc/ME/MTech in Computer Science and related disciplines and should be interested in the mathematical aspects of computer science.
Neuroscience
Individuals focusing on a doctorate seat in Neuroscience through JEST 2022 must have passed MSc in Physics or Mathematics. Even those who have passed BE/BTech/MCA in Computer Science can also apply.

Computational Biology
Applicants should be MSc/ME/MTech/MCA in any engineering or science discipline with good mathematical skills and strong interest in biological problems.
For integrated PhD
Physics
Students applying for an integrated PhD (MSc/MTech+PhD) in this subject must have passed BSc in Physics or Mathematics.
Theoretical Computer Science
Applicants should have passed BSc/BE/BTech/MCA in Computer Science or related disciplines and should be interested in the mathematical aspects of computer science.

Registering for JEST 2022
The process for submitting applications for JEST 2022 will be online. Candidates wishing to apply for the exam must visit the official website ‘https://www.jest.org.in/’
Soon after the webpage downloads, applicants have to click the link for registration. Students must remember that the link for application submission will be made active when the registration begins on December 15 2021.
Applicants have to click the link for registration and undertake registration process and obtain username and password.
After obtaining them they can come back to the same website where they took up registration and click the link for login and type the username and password obtained during the registration and submit them.
Post submission, applicants will be able to access the application form they can fill it by providing the required details, upload the required documents, pay the registration fee and submit the application finally.
Registration
The application fee to be paid while registering for JEST 2022 is Rs 800. The same for SC/ST male candidates and Female candidates is Rs 400.
Payment will be accepted using SBI Epay online payment service using debit card/credit card/Net-banking/UPI only. Payment by any other mode will not be accepted.
The application fee once paid will not be refunded. Application fee is waived for female applicants belonging to SC/ST category, however they need to complete the payment process by selecting the ‘0″ option.

Important dates
The submission of application for JEST 2022 will commence from December 15 2021 and the last date for applying is January 18 2022. JEST 2022 will be conducted on March 13 2022.
