The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), noted public sector oil and gas company has announced engagement of 500 non-technical and technical apprentices. The submission of online application has already begun on 22 February. The last date for online submission is 20 March. The date for admit card download is 20 March tentatively. The date of the written test is said to 29 March tentatively.

These apprentices will be for vacancies at Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Sources from IOCL say the reservation for these posts will be applicable as per the percentage mentioned for recruitment applicable to states and Union territory of western India.
The age of the candidates must be 18 years minimum and 24 years maxium as on 29 February for candidates of general and EWS categories. Applicants from SC, ST, OBC (NCL)/PWBD categories will have age relaxation as per Government Guidelines.
An upper age relaxation of 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates and five years for SC,ST candidates will be allowed. The only document to be produced for age proof is marksheet, certificate issued by Board of Secondary Education for passing Matriculation (Class X). Only that document is acceptable for proof of age.

The duration of apprenticeship training will be 12 months, period of apprentiseship training for Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices) and Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (skilled certificate holders) will be 15 months.
Selection shall be on the basis of performance of the candidates on the basis of marks obtained by them in the Written Test (Duration 90 Minutes) and meeting notified eligibility criteria.
The written test will have 100 questions in objective type multiple choice format. There will be four options answers for every question and the candidate has to chose the right answer.
