IIT Kanpur: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest during the Foundation Day ceremony that will be held today.
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur will celebrate its 65th Foundation Day on November 2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the chief guest, will grace the occasion. According to the IIT Kanpur statement, Rajnath Singh’s visit to IIT Kanpur will inspire the students and the larger academic community.
On the 65th Foundation Day, the institute will hand out awards to 18 alumni. Among them, the list of recipients of some of the awards features – the Alumnus Awards, which recognizes and honors alumni who have made distinctive achievements in their respective careers and contributions there; the Distinguished Service Awards, given to those who have supported the cause of the institute in bringing about growth, as added in the IIT Kanpur statement; Young Alumnus Awards awarded to the alumni who had performed exemplary feats at an incredibly early stage of career.

Three institute Fellows Awards by IIT Kanpur will be given to faculty members who contribute to the institute’s overall growth. The award signifies excellence and values coupled with IIT Kanpur.

The chairperson of the Board of Governors, K Radhakrishnan of IIT Kanpur, would attend the function to share insights with students, a note from IIT Kanpur said.
