IACS opens admissions for various courses

Students willing to seek admission into science courses at graduate, post graduate and doctoral levels have a happy news from Indian Association For The Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata based institute for higher learning.

Sources from the educational institution say, the applications are for admission into the ‘integrated bachelors’-master’s programme in science,’ ‘master’s/integrated master’s-PhD programme in science for 2020’ and ‘PhD programme in Autumn semester of 2020.’ The above programmes are in various subjects namely Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Applied and Interdisciplinary Sciences, Material Sciences, Mathematical and Computational Sciences.

Interested candidates can click the official link ‘home‘ to know more about the courses and also apply for it. The application process has begun on 24 February, the last date to apply for the course is 5 April.

Integrated bachelors’-master’s programme in science is for the students who have passed their plus-two exam in science stream. The objective of the programme is to provide high quality education to students in science. The applied candidates have to a Under graduate Pre Interview Screening Test (UPST), this will be held in the computer mode on 18 April.

Master’s/Integrated Master’s-PhD Programme in Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Materials Sciences, Mathematical and Computational Sciences, Applied and Interdisciplinary Science is for candidates who have passed their bachelor’s degree in sciences and engineering with a first division at 10 and Plus-Two levels. The session will begin from 15 July and selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs 12,000 per month (fixed).

Eligible candidates will have to appear for Master’s Pre-Interview Screening Test (MPST) which will be a computer based one and will be held on 18 April. Candidates with a 50% minimum pass percentage in their respective post graduate subject and have a strong liking for research can apply for PhD Program in the Autumn Semester of 2020.

The aspirants for this programme must also be qualified in UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/JEST or their equivalent national level exam. The programme will commence from 15 July. The candidates have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 1200 (general category applicants) and Rs 600 (SC, ST and Differently Abled category applicants).

Last date for applying for the above courses is 5 April. The date for downloading admit card is from 10 to 17 April. Online written test for both UPST and MPST is 18 April. The date of result is 8 May. BS-MS admission interview will be from 18 to 23 May, interview for MS/Int MS PhD Admission will be held from 25 to 27 May. Final admission results will be declared on 30 May.

The first list of admission will be out from 6 to 9 June, the second list will be released from 13 to 14 June and third list will be out from 16 to 17 June. Orientation for new students will be held on 14 July and classes will commence on 15 July.
