Dharmendra Pradhan Australia Tour: He will address the Australian International Education conference, visit RMIT University’s MedTech center, and look to explore possibilities for early childhood education at the Auburn Long Day Child Care Centre.
Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will visit Singapore and Australia between October 20 and 26, 2024, to further bilateral cooperation in the education sector. During the visit, ways and means for further collaboration, engagement, and synergy on key areas of mutual interest in education will be explored.
Dharmendra Pradhan will visit Singapore and Australia
The minister will interact with the Indian diaspora during his two-day trip to Singapore, scheduled for October 20, 2024. He will also meet key leaders: Lawrence Wong, Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance and Trade and Industry; Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education; and Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Pradhan will visit the National University of Singapore and a local secondary school focused on integrating AI into the curriculum. He will also meet with academics and alumni of IITs and IIMs in the country to discuss educational collaboration between the two countries.
The Australian Minister for Education, Melbourne, will meet Pradhan on 23rd October. He will deliver the plenary speech at the Australian International Education Conference. In addition, the minister will visit South Melbourne Primary School, which has a reputation for innovative and integrated approaches to learning.
Collaborative strategies for the commercialization of medical technologies
Pradhan will visit the ‘Discovery to Device’ center at RMI University, a MedTech prototyping and manufacturing incubation facility. This would include checking on collaborative strategies for commercializing medical technologies and enlightening others on the importance of industry-academia partnerships in fostering innovation.
Visit Monash University’s innovation lab
Pradhan will meet with Jacinta Allan MP, premier of Victoria, and Australian education minister Jason Clare MP. The latter would be visited to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Monash University’s Innovation Lab and Centre for Nano-fabrication. He will also meet senior academics of Indian origin there in Melbourne.
Touch upon the partnership in early childhood education
On 24 October, Pradhan will address the Auburn Long Day Child Care Centre in Sydney over possible collaborative opportunities in early childhood education. He will then meet with the Innovative Research University (IRU) officials and attend the 2nd Australia-India Education and Skills Council meeting.
On October 25, 2024, he will visit the Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School and the Macquarie Park Innovation District (MPID), where more than 180 multinational companies are based and are applying research in telecommunications, digital industries, medical technology, and pharmaceuticals for commercialization.
He will also interact with Indian research students affiliated with the eight universities in Australia. He will also visit the UNSW Energy Institute and the Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (TraCE) at the Tyree Energy Technologies building in Kensington to see practical research applications with commercial significance. He will also explore opportunities for collaboration in sports education and research at the UTS Moore Park Sports and Exercise Precinct, an ultimate facility for teaching, research, and sports.
