The last date to submit CAT 2024 application was 13 September 2024 and that was extended now. Individuals who are yet to apply can submit application as there is more time now.

The process of application submission for CAT 2024 had to end on 13 September 2024, as per the earlier schedule, now it ends on 20 September 2024, those who are yet to register can undertake CAT 2024 Application Submission.

It is for those who desire to study management courses in IIMs aka Indian Institutes of Management or Indian Institute of Management.

Candidates can submit applications till 5 PM on 20 September 2024. IIM Calcutta will be conducting the popular exam this year.

The registration for CAT 2024 or CAT 2024 application submission commenced by 10 AM on 1 August 2024.

Exam will be conducted on 24 November 2024 in online mode in three sessions.

Online mode is also known as computer based mode or computer based test. This is where the questions will have to be answered on a computer screen at the test center.

About the exam

The full name of the exam is Common Admission Test which is popularly known to all as CAT. It is conducted every year by one of IIMs located in India.

It is a national level exam that has to be passed to gain admission into management courses offered by IIMs and is conducted every year.

CAT 2024 is meant to be conducted this year (2024) and IIM Calcutta will be organizing the exam for 2024. The score cards can be downloaded after the results are declared.

Who can submit CAT 2024 Application?

Candidates willing to take up CAT 2024 application submission must have passed Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories].

Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also take up CAT 2024 application submission.

How to submit CAT 2024 Application?

The process to take up CAT 2024 application submission is online and candidates have to visit the official website of the exam which is accessible at ‘www.iimcat.ac.in’

1. The URL mentioned above must be typed into the browser and submitted to allow the website to download.

2. Once the website is ready, candidates can click the information brochure and know about the exam.

3. After reading the information, candidates can click the New Candidate Registration/Register button.

4.Clicking the above link will open another webpage with another URL, when that opens, candidates can provide the required information and create an account with username and password.

5. Post account creation, candidates can login and start applying for the exam.

Registration fee

Candidates have to pay CAT 2024 application submission fee of Rs 2500 while applying for the exam. The same is Rs 1250 for candidates of ST/SC and PwD categories.

Candidate needs to pay the CAT 2024 application submission fee only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for.

SC,ST and PwD candidates must upload a copy of their SC/ST/PwD certificates at the time of registration. Fees once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

How to download admit card?

Candidates who have successfully completed their CAT 2024 application submission process will alone be able to download admit card and its process is explained below:

1. Candidates have to visit the official website for the exam at ‘www.iimcat.ac.in’

2. Once the website is ready, candidates have to click the link for downloading hall ticket which may open another webpage.

3. When another webpage opens, candidates have to type their application number and other required information and submit them to obtain the admit card.

Exam pattern

CAT 2024 will be conducted online as a computer based test where the questions have to be answered on a computer screen at the test center.

Duration to complete answering is 2 hours or 120 minutes. The test will have questions related to Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).
