
IGNOU PhD exam – Candidates aspiring to do a PhD have a news worth paying attention. The prestigious institution Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is inviting applications for entrance test to admit candidates into PhD programme for July 2020 session.
The doctoral programme is being offered in about 28 subjects and a few among them are are French, Anthropology, Commerce, Home Science, Geography, Library and Information Science. Candidates will be selected for admission based on the performance in entrance test and interview.

The process for applying has already begun online and the last date to register for the entrance exam will be 23 March. Candidates can logon to ‘ignouexams.nta.nic.in‘ to apply for the entrance exam.

The admit cards can be downloaded for the entrance exam from 9 April onwards.

The application has to be made online and the fee for applying for the exam is Rs 1000 for General and OBC category candidates and Rs 800 for candidates belonging to SC, ST and Economically weaker section categories.
Candidates who have completed post graduation in the relevant discipline with a minimum pass percentage of 55% marks (for general category) or 50% marks {SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), differently abled categories) can apply for the exam. The candidates who will be selected in the written test will be called an interview or synopsis presentation session before Discipline Specific Doctoral Research Committee.
Candidates must get 50% marks (general category) or 45% marks (non creamy layer SC, ST and OBC, differently abled persons) to get shortlisted for the interview. Candidates who emerge successfully out of the interview/presentation will get offer letters.
Candidates must produce documents like Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Drivers License while attending the exam. The candidates can send queries to ‘researchunit@ignou.ac.in’ or call at 011-29571984/85/98/86 Monday to Friday from 10.00 A.M. to 5.30 P.M (excluding Gazette holidays).
